Mapping
September 16, 2023
The steering committee reviewed draft maps of the existing condition report in the meeting on September 16, 2013. These maps, prepared by MPO staff, illustrate the bicycling environment in the Morgantown area, which includes vehicular traffic speed, vehicular traffic volume, lane width, slope, bicycle rack locations, and so on.

Vision, Goals, & Objectives

The steering committee has developed a vision for the plan. It states that all residents in the Morgantown area can enjoy bicycling safely and fearlessly anywhere, anytime for any reason. Steering Committee
August 1, 2013
The steering committee was formed in August. The steering committee members are primarily from Morgantown Bicycle Board. They are Butch Graber, Damien Davis, Derek Springston, Emily Vasile, Frank Gmeindl, and Gunnar Shogren.
The functions of the steering committee are:

Provide guidance and direction for the Plan

Identify the interests of bicyclists in the area

Cultivate visions, goals, and criteria for the Plan

Review reports prepared by MPO staff

Monitor the planning procedure and public outreach process
Bicycle Survey

Please take our survey to help us assess ridership and public opinion and preferences on cycling. The survey was developed by the steering committee with the help from Christiaan Abildso, the chairman of Morgantown Pedestrian Safety Board. It is available by clicking here.
